There’s no better way to welcome fall in Eastern North Carolina than with fresh oysters, lakeside views, and the warmth of a crackling fire. At The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort, we’re bringing together everything we love about the season—coastal flavor, community fun, and time spent outdoors—with one of our most anticipated events of the year: Oyster Roast Weekend.

Set just 19 miles inland from the Crystal Coast in Maysville, NC, The Lakes offers a peaceful, family-friendly retreat surrounded by nature—making it the perfect place to enjoy this coastal tradition with a fall twist.

A Fall Tradition, Fresh from the Coast

Join us Saturday, November 15 at 2:30 PM for a classic oyster roast, complimentary for all registered campers. We’ll be serving up fresh, local oysters roasted over open flames in a relaxed, come-as-you-are setting. It’s a chance to enjoy great food and even better company before the holiday season kicks into full gear.

To help us plan, guests who’d like oysters must RSVP by Saturday, November 9 by calling the office at (910) 595-4112. You’ll need to bring your own oyster knife, and everyone participating must be listed on your reservation—no exceptions. Guests are also welcome to bring a side dish to share, though it’s not required.

Activities for All Ages

While oysters are the star of the show, we’re filling the weekend with family-friendly activities that make fall at The Lakes so special.

Craft tables will be stocked with seasonal supplies for both kids and adults to get creative. Take a wagon ride through the resort to admire the changing leaves along Misty Morning and Cypress Lakes. Outdoor games will be available throughout the day for campers of all ages, from relay races to lawn games.

As evening settles in, we’ll gather lakeside for a cozy movie night under the stars—the perfect way to wind down after a day of great food and outdoor fun.
