GENERAL QUESTIONS

What time is Check-In/Check-Out?

For RV sites, check-in is 2 p.m. and check-out is 1 p.m. For Cabins, check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 10 a.m. Upon request cabin guests may park in the guest parking lot after check-out and use the amenities and facilities until 1 pm. 

What are your office hours?

Currently there are no set office hours. If you’d like to take a tour of the property, please phone 910-595-4112.  Management is usually on the property Mondays – Fridays from 9 am – 5 pm and available by phone at 910.595.4112 when the office is not open. 

Do you have golf cart rentals?

Electric golf cart rentals are $40 per day.  Golf carts seat 4 people. Advanced reservations are recommended online or by phoning 910.595.4112.

Can I bring my own golf cart?

Guests may bring their own electric golf cart. Proof of liability insurance and a valid driver’s license is required.  There is a one-time registration fee of $25 for stays less than 7 nights. 

Are campfires allowed?

Fire rings are provided at each site. Please don’t leave fires unattended.  Wood bundles are sold at the reservation office.  To save our trees from beetle infestation only NC firewood may be brought into the park.

Do you give discounts?

A 20% discount is given to active duty and retired military. A valid military ID is needed at check-in to receive the discount.  Anyone 62 years or older receives a 10% discount with ID.

Are you family-friendly?

Everyone is welcome to camp at The Lakes provided the park’s common courtesy guidelines are followed. Camping rates are based on 2 adults and children under 18 are free, maximum of 8 people per site.

Is swimming allowed in the Lakes?

Swimming is allowed at the beach swimming area only.  Swimming is at your own risk. Swimming is not permitted in the White Oak River.   

FISHING QUESTIONS

Do you sell a day pass to fish?

Only registered campers may fish.  Those interested in fishing only may reserve an RV or tent site.

Do you need a fishing license?  

The first two lakes (Misty Morning and Cypress) are private lakes and do not require a license. They are catch and release. The third lake, White Oak Lake, is connected to the White Oak River and therefore a public waterway, anyone over 16 is required to have a North Carolina fishing license. You are allowed to keep your catch from White Oak Lake/River, you must adhere to North Carolina bag limits.

Is fishing allowed at the lakeside sites?

There are many areas throughout the property where fishing is allowed.  The height of the banks from the lakeside sites prohibits fishing from the site.

Do you have a boat ramp?

There are boat ramps on all the lakes for registered guests’ use. Misty Morning Lake and Cypress Lake allow electric trolling motors only. White Oak Lake/River allows gas motors.

PET QUESTIONS

How many pets are allowed per site?

Three dogs are allowed on an RV site. Exotic animals are not allowed.   See cabin pet rules below.

Do you have breed restrictions?

There are no breed restrictions, but pets must be well behaved, friendly, on a leash and may not be left unattended.

What areas of the campground are pet-friendly?

There is a designated trail and a large spacious field for walking with dogs. Pets are not allowed in any of the public areas including the bathhouse, laundry, pavilion, pool or sandy beach.

RV SITE QUESTIONS

Do you have long-term RV sites?

Annual and monthly site rentals are offered.  A Grand Opening Special is currently being offered for $6300 – $7000 per year.  Payment plan options are available for annual sites. Monthly rates start at $700 per month. All extended stay rates include water, streaming-speed internet and garbage pickup.  Electricity is invoiced monthly. There is a picnic table and fire ring at every site and concrete patios on all annual sites.

Are any of the sites shaded?

Yes, the preferred back-in sites have afternoon shade.

CABINS

How many people can sleep in a cabin?

Lakefront cabins sleep 7 people comfortably. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, the living room has an L shaped sectional couch with a pull-out bed. The cabins have identical floor plans, however the 2nd bedroom layout varies. The regular 2 Bedroom Cabin has one set of bunk beds (full on bottom, twin on top) in the second bedroom. The 2 Bedroom Quad Bunk Cabin has two sets of bunk beds (four twin beds) in the second bedroom.  The rate is based on 2 adults and children under 18 are free.

Do you allow pets at your cabins?

Cabins 60 and 61 are designated as pet friendly. Limit of 2 dogs per cabin and cats or other pets are not allowed. Pet fees apply. Pets must not be left inside the cabin unattended unless in a crate. Please bring your own crate.

Are linens provided?

All linens, pillows and towels are provided. Please bring your own beach and pool towels.

When is the Pool open?

The pool is open from May 1st through October 31st weather permitting. Daily swimming hours are 10 am to 8 pm. Swimming is at your own risk. Lifeguards are not on duty.

The Beach is open from April 1st through October 31st. Daily swimming hours are from 10 am to 8 pm or sunset, whichever is earliest. Swimming is at your own risk. Lifeguards are not on duty. 

Is there wildlife on the property?

Our peaceful natural setting attracts a variety of wildlife. Deer frequently feed in our fields in the evening. Bald eagles and Canadian geese are sighted in or around the lakes. Alligators inhabit the White Oak Lake/River. Alligators are rarely seen in Misty Morning or Cypress Lake. Please remember not to feed or approach wildlife.  Take caution when allowing your pets to swim in the White Oak Lake/River.  Hunting at the resort is prohibited.
